Background:The development of chemical admixtures have made casting of mass concrete convenient, control workability without needing more water, producing concrete with less permeability, and has improved the quality of concrete in-situ.
Study objective:To investigate the effect of two types (different percentages) of admixtures on properties of concrete.
Methodology:The Admixtures percentages values were (0.5-1-1.5-2) % of cement content. Three tests were conducted for each mix, slump test , compression test conducted at (7 - 28) days, and indirect tension test conducted at 28 days.
Results:The study results showed that using waterproofing admixtures was effective in improving the workibility, compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete. The used admixtures are effective in reducing the permeability of the concrete.
Conclusion: Using waterproofing admixtures in rigid pavement slabs improves theirproperties. The concrete that designed with the given additives is recommended for production of an effective rigid pavement slabs.
