Study of Adsorption Kinetics Models For 3,4-Dimethylaniline Removal
وصف البحث
The kinetics of adsorption describes the relationship between the mixing time and the adsorbate uptake by the adsorbent. In doing so, the time required for attaining equilibrium between the adsorbate and adsorbent is determined. The kinetics of adsorption is also important for selecting optimum operating conditions for the full-scale batch adsorption process. It also helps determine the mechanism and adsorption It is necessary to study the kinetics of adsorption in batch systems to determine the rate-limiting step in the adsorption process. The effect of contact time on the adsorption of 3,4-dimethylaniline (3,4-DMA on biochar and biochar modified TiO2 was studied. The 3,4-DMA adsorption increased with an increase in contact time. The maximum amount of 3,4-DMA was adsorbed at 24h for the two adsorbents. Pseudo-first-order kinetics, pseudo-second-order kinetics, Intraparticle diffusion, and Elovich models to understand the dynamics of the adsorption process examined the experimental data. The adsorption kinetics showed that the adsorption process of 3,4-DMA on BC and BC-TiO2 composite are pseudo-second-order kinetics models. The adsorption process of BC and BC-TiO2 composite could be divided into two stages: the fast adsorption stage of membrane diffusion mechanism for 0-6 h and the slow adsorption stage of intra-particle diffusion for 6-72 h, and chemical adsorption was the main mechanism controlling the adsorption rate.
